Delightfully Snug

IMG_1687

Today I bring you a short little post featuring this extremely warm, down jacket from Style Nanda.

Every single time I wear this coat I receive so many comments. Most of which sound something along the lines of – “Oh my gosh, you are so puffy!” or “That is the biggest jacket I’ve ever seen.”

Yes it’s true that when I wear this jacket I feel exceptionally puffy, but I also feel delightfully snug!

WHAT I’M WEARING:

Coat – StyleNanda

Jumper – Zara

Jeans – Rollas

Boots – The Iconic

RIDING IN THE 90’S

This week I was lucky enough to receive some pieces from Riders by Lee, the edgy, younger sibling of Lee Jeans.

Today is the day that their new 90’s inspired, ‘Avant Grunge’ collection hits stores and I am so excited to celebrate with them by bringing back styles from my favourite era of fashion!

The Winter ’14 collection celebrates the best of 90’s grunge with luscious, groupie inspired fur vests and coats, skinny denims in a gritty colour palette of biker blacks, stonewash greys and inky blue, and basics to compliment it all.

WHAT I’M WEARING:

Jeans – Riders by Lee, Bumster Vegas in Blizzard Wash $109.95
Vest – Riders by Lee, Groupie Vest in Arctic Fox $89.95
Tshirt – Nude Lucy $40
Shoes – Asos, Halfpenny heeled sandals $81
Clutch – StyleNanda $40

Now if you just have to have a piece (or 5) of the Riders by Lee Winter ’14 collection, it is now available from Myer, Just Jeans and online at the Iconic and Surf Stitch. Garments range from just $39.95 for basics and up to $119.95 for jeans and jackets. I know for sure that my groupie vest will be keeping me warm all winter, so get with it and come back to the 90’s with me!

ALL THAT GLITTERS

IMG_1235opal & 18k gold star boulder earring

This week I was lucky enough to receive some pieces from Sydney based jewellery designer,
Louise Maniscalco. Her gorgeous collection is all handmade using materials such as 18k gold, diamonds and crystals and these timeless pieces can be dressed up or down to make an outfit come to life.

Because Louise’s collection is so beautiful on its own, I really wanted to focus on showing you just the jewellery.  If you see something you like, email Louise at:  info@louise-maniscalco.com

In Stitches

DSC_1210

Once every so often, you come across and item of clothing that just feels perfect for you.
For me, this top is one of them.

I absolutely adore the stitched, leafy detailing on the sheer, white fabric and the black contrast collar. I bought this top online from Style Nanda for just $25 and paired it with this black leather skirt that I bought for 10 euros in an opshop in Paris.

Such a simple outfit to create, but one that I would feel great wearing for a night out with friends.

Until next time!

BASICALLY…

IMG_0798

I am one of those people who absolutely NEVER dress weather appropriately. Even when I know that its too chilly to not wear a coat, nine times out of ten I will decide to leave my coat behind. Even when its way too hot for sleeves, you’ll find me tucking a cute jumper into into some shorts. I tend to dress for the mood I am in that day rather than what would keep my body at the ideal temperature. I seem to have this ‘I’ll be fine’ mentality which usually results in me freezing or overheating. I just never learn!

Todays outfit was one that I donned on my weekend trip to Melbourne. Clearly I wasn’t feeling particularly colourful that day, so I left the colour palette quite grey-scale, with the only pop coming from my nails and lipstick.

WHAT I’M WEARING:

Jeans: American Apparel
Top: Zeitgeist
Coat: Minty Meets Munt
Boots: Topshop
Sunglasses: Bondi Markets
Lipstick: INOXA in ‘Tangerine’

This was the first time I wore this coat all Winter, and it was actually Spring!
I’m sure I’ll learn my lesson when I move to London though. I’m certain I’ll be needing a lot more than this little grey coat.
Look out for the walking sleeping bag, because that will be me.

Until next time!

MIRROR NAILS

On a couple of occasions I have donned these bad boys out and about and I have noticed that just about everyone who sees them will compliment me or ask me about them!
I am of course talking about these gorgeous mirrored nails that I am so in love with. I first saw a photo of this trend while scrolling on Tumblr and ever since then I was on the hunt!
A lot of people ask me if they are a polish, but they are in fact fake. The brand is 1000hour and they can be bought in very selected stores (I have actually only found one) and are usually priced around 10-15 Australian Dollars.
A glue is provided to apply them and although they are strong and do last about a week or so, I would recommend carrying the glue with you in your bag or wallet just in case you were to knock one off because there’s nothing worse then missing a nail! If long nails aren’t really for you, they can even be cut and filed without ruining the mirrored foil.

Beauty tip: The glue will damage your real nails only slightly by making them rough. The glue can be a little bit stubborn which essentially is what you want since you want the nails to last, however a nail buffer and some moisturiser will help to make your nails smooth and healthy again!

You pretty much can’t go wrong with these, I guarantee that once you wear them you will have multiple questions and admirations.
Buy them HERE.
